AFFORDABLE MINERAL MAKEUP: PROUD SIGNER - COMPACT FOR SAFER COSMETICS
We are a proud signer of the Compact for Safe Cosmetics. We invite you to read about their mission and
join in our efforts to teach everyone about using natural, healthy products without harmful ingredients. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics is focused on making cosmetics, personal care and all the other grooming products that men, women and children use safe for consumers and the environment by asking companies to
remove toxic ingredients. Reducing the amount of products you use will reduce your overall exposure, but
the goal is to make all personal care products safe for everyone to use.
Cosmetic products and cosmetic ingredients are not reviewed or approved by the Food and Drug
Administration (FDA) before they are sold to the public. The FDA cannot require companies to do safety
testing of their cosmetic products before marketing.
Affordable Mineral Makeup researches its products to ensure that they do not contain toxic chemical
ingredients known to cause health issues such as skin irritation, cancer, mutation or birth defects.
According to the Compact for Safer Cosmetics, several major cosmetics companies, including OPI, Avon,
Estee Lauder, L'Oreal, Revlon, Proctor & Gamble and Unilever have refused to sign the Compact for Safe
Cosmetics.
The video below features advocate, mom and cancer survivor Kristi March who produced the new video about safe cosmetics. It features the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics' national grassroots coordinator Mia Davis.
