The Affordable Mineral Makeup Company is an ecologically friendly business...here are some of the things we are doing to reduce emissions, reduce the unnecessary use of natural resources, reduce carbon footprints and reduce the damage to waterways and land by manufacturing processes that allow harmful chemicals and toxins to drain into the land. Affordable Mineral Makeup Web Servers Are All Green! Our web servers are all green. A typical website host server can produce the same emissions as a 15MPG SUV, but not ours...our web host not only replaced all of its servers with newer equipment that is more than 30% more efficient, the servers run entirely on electricity provided by wind power. We ship all orders via USPS Priority mail so you can reuse the boxes as long as you're shipping Priority Mail. We've used the same box for over 6 months with one of our clients shipping to and from! We do not send out printed catalogs or elaborate promotions by mail...we provide a great catalog experience online and this not only reduces the need to cut down more of our forests, it reduces our carbon footprint considering the power consumption and emissions to produce and ship printed materials like catalogs and brochures. We purchase Carbon Credits via a sister site of ours to offset the carbon footprint generated from shipping orders. Affordable Mineral Makeup is Working At It! We are a also a nearly paperless office managing almost all our the associated record keeping and order processing with computers. We print on recycled paper which again is an eco friendly part of reducing carbon footprints. We use organza bags and other green packaging for most orders (other than for samples and select others which have to be shipped in poly bags - we do use biodegradable bags for other sizes). We are moving toward the use of greener sifter jar containers (locating quality green containers is an ongoing task). We provide product that is natural and contains no chemicals thus offering green product and no chemical backlash to the environment in their manufacturing process.
