Affordable Mineral Makeup Contains No Bismuth Oxychloride

Affordable Mineral Makeup cosmetics consist of simple, pure ingredients including mica, iron oxides, and titanium oxides which has been used for cosmetic purposes for thousands of years. They do not contain artificial fillers or dyes and is completely natural for your skin.

You will not find Bismuth Oxychloride, fillers, talc, cornstarch, nanoparticles, micronized minerals, fragrances or parabens in our bare minerals. Bismuth Oxychloride is a chemical element that chemically resembles arsenic and antimony. Bismuth is heavy and brittle and has a silvery white color with a pink tinge. Bismuth compounds are used in cosmetics, medicines, and in medical procedures and skin and respiratory irritation can follow exposure.

Bismuth is a byproduct that results from the processing of lead and copper. Bismuth Oxychloride is found in cosmetics where it is used to fill or "bulk up" or bind products. It is well documented that Bismuth Oxychloride is a skin irritant and can cause itching and rashes. In large amounts it can cause cystic acne as well...a key reason to avoid any products that have Bismuth Oxychloride if you already have acne or any other skin issues including rosacea or even sensitive skin.

Many of the biggest cosmetics companies have products that contain bismuth. Although they have huge budgets for marketing and television commercials, they have products that still contain this potentially toxic ingredient. Here are the basic ingredients in our mineral makeup:

• Titanium Dioxide has waterproof and sun protection properties while providing a beautiful matte look
  
• Mica has some transparent properties and enables the makeup to go on smoothly
  
• Iron Oxides give the makeup its pigmentation
  
• Zinc Oxide is known for its healing properties in problem skin such as rosacea and acne...it also stays on even while sweating and swimming, and provides protection from the sun's harmful UV rays.

Blue & purple shades contain ultramarine blue, and some shades may have cosmetic glitter in them...this is usually mentioned on the shade description page. Mascara, eyeliner, lip products have their ingredients on their product pages.
