The jar size refers to the container size, not the net weight of the product. Because mineral makeup is very lightweight and fluffy, the actual weight can vary slightly depending on how densely the powder settles. We fill each jar to capacity.

These time frames will vary depending on the product. For example, foundations are used the most so they will be used faster than an eye shadow or blush. Of course, times vary based on the quantity and frequency of application.

• 5g Container (approx. 1g net weight) - approximately 1 month
• 20g container (approx. 6g net weight) - approximately 4-5 months
• 30g container (approx. 9g net weight) - approximately 6-7 months

We found that the 10g jar did not offer enough value compared to the 20g size, so we simplified our offerings to provide better value and a clearer choice for customers.

Affordable Mineral Makeup contains no dyes, irritants, preservatives, waxes, mineral or petroleum oil, or fillers. Our powders are loose and buff easily into the skin. There are no preservatives, no bismuth, no cornstarch in our mineral makeup.

A finishing powder (also called a veil) is a lightweight, translucent powder applied over foundation to set makeup, reduce shine, and give the skin a smooth, soft-focus finish.

Yes. Our mineral makeup is free from common irritants and is suitable for most sensitive skin types. However, if you have very sensitive or reactive skin, we recommend patch testing first.

When applied properly, our mineral foundation can last all day. Using a primer and setting powder can help extend wear time even more.

If your foundation appears pasty, here are a few possibilities:

1. The brush: The wrong brush can really make a difference in mineral makeup. Ensure you are using a good quality brush intended for mineral makeup application.
2. Too much product on the brush: Mineral makeup is concentrated color. A little can go a long way. So start slowly and work your way to perfect in layers, only using it where needed.
3. The wrong shade: Caught between pink & yellow? Minerals make it easy to blend shades to create your perfect skin tone. Remember to blend down your neck.

Yes. Mineral makeup can be used wet or dry. If  you are used to your liquid foundation and just can't give it up, you can still use Affordable Mineral Makeup. Just add a few drops of water to the foundation in the lid of the sifter jar and mix until you have reached your desired consistency.

You can apply with either a brush or a sponge.

Absolutely! Simply dip your brush into clear lip gloss and dab into a mineral pot and apply for fabulous, one-of-a-kind shades.

Once you’ve found your perfect shade. Here’s how to achieve your desired look.

Apply your mineral foundation with a good soft foundation brush. There are two ways to get the minerals on your brush:

• Place the bristles of you brush against the holes in the top shaker jar and invert the jar, adding minerals to your brush. Revert the jar to it's upright position and remove the brush from the holes, tap the brush against a hard surface to nestle the minerals within the brush head. 
• Or tap a small amount of minerals into the jars lid and swirl the brush into it, then tap the brush onto the hard surface to embed the minerals.

To apply the minerals:

• Start at the hairline and swirl onto your face in downward motions over your cheekbones and towards the nose
• Start with a little and use more as needed. A little goes a long way.

Blemishes are a snap: Using a concealer brush, apply a small amount of Concealer  directly to the area and blend well.

A layer of Defense Mineral Primer under your foundation enhances and brightens your complexion while minimizing discoloration and redness. Applying Defense Mineral Primer under your foundation to helps absorb the oil. This versatile powder isn't over-drying, and will help your foundation last through the day.

You can create your own tinted moisturizer by mixing a bit of mineral foundation powder with your favorite moisturizer to battle dry skin. It is best to not mix this in large batches. Just mix what you need for one application.

We recommend a Kabuki style brush for the application of our foundations.
